Ski Touring & AIARE Avalanche Courses

Pro Guiding Service offers a variety of  courses designed to help you become a proficient backcountry adventurer.  While they are all great stand alone courses, we strongly encourage combining the touring and mountaineering courses with the AIARE avalanche and navigation courses to give you all of the tools necessary to travel safely in the backcountry.  All courses are movement based, meaning you will spend most of your time actively learning in the field, and 100% application based, meaning you will apply every concept that you are introduced to while ski touring in relevant terrain. If the offered course dates don't work for you, please call or email us for a private arrangement.

Avalanche Companion Rescue Course - AIARE

This 1-day course focuses specifically on the scenario: an avalanche just happened, somebody was caught, Now What?!  It focuses on searching with your avalanche beacon, probing and shoveling techniques, and improving your response time while managing people and scene safety.  This course is a great stand-alone course, and it is a prerequisite for the AIARE Level 2. New participants will learn the basics of companion rescue, while returning participants will expand their skill set with advanced topics and realistic scenario practice to help improve their skills.
