Climbing Mount Shuksan via the Sulphide Glacier consists of a 7 mile hike through old growth forest and up into the subalpine with impressive views of the surrounding peaks, followed by a relatively mellow glacial approach to the 800 foot tall summit pyramid. The final 800' to the top is snow in early season or 4th class to low fifth class rock scrambling in late season, all belayed by our experienced guides on the way up with some rappelling on the way down. A spectacular way to experience the rugged cascades on one of the most photographed mountains in North America.
