The Baker, Shuksan, Sahale Trilogy

The Baker, Shuksan, Sahale Trilogy

This is your opportunity to climb three of the most iconic peaks in the North Cascades in one week. Come and climb Mount Baker, Mount Shuksan and Sahale Peak with us. Non of these peaks are very demanding on a technical level, but they offer a level of introduction into alpine climbing that would be hard to match in a different area of the Lower 48 states.

Mount Shuksan Fisher Chimneys

Mount Shuksan's Fisher Chimeys is one of the very classic Cascadian alpine routes up the arguably most iconic peak in North Cascades National Park. You will do it all. A scenic hike, climb a complicated series of chimneys, camp in an amazing setting, cross several glaciers and climb the spectacular summit pyramid to the summit of Mount Shuksan.

Infinite Bliss Rock Climb

Infinite Bliss Rock Climb

Infinite Bliss is a super fun 23-pitch bolted route in a beautiful setting with the difficulty ranging from 5.6 to 5.10. While it is bolted, the impressive length of this climb makes it a serious endeavor.
This route is not a true sport route. It is a bolt-protected slab climb with intermittent steep face climbing (especially the last 5 pitches. It is extremely long which means you need to be quick and efficient. People say that it is the longest bolted climb in the USA and Canada and it is located right here in our backyard - the beautiful Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie Valley. Infinite Bliss blurrs the lines between bigwall climbing, sport route and alpine rock route. Without a doubt it is a great test of one's climbing efficiency and an unforgettable adventure.

Summer Haute Route

Summer Haute Route

The Summer Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt is arguably one of the most scenic and famous multi-day hikes in all of the Alps.

Spearhead Traverse Express

The Northwest has the Spearhead Traverse.  Easy access, a spectacular setting in the back country of the continent's best ski area, heavily glaciated terrain and even a hut make it a must for anybody who is serious about ski touring. It seems incredible to me that a ski traverse of such quality and easy access (we take the lift to the top of the Blackcomb ski area) can still offer so much solitude and such a wilderness experience. The Spearhead Traverse Express follows the same route as the standard Spearhead Express, we just do it a bit faster this time.

Mount Baker North Ridge

The Baker North Ridge is one of top 5 classic ice routes in the lower 48 states and one of the 50 classic climbs of North America. Standing at 10,781 feet, Mount Baker is the third highest peak in the State of Washington. This route is a super classic.

Haute Route Ski Tour

The Haute Route is most likely the single most famous ski traverse in the Alps. Pro Guiding Service has guided this super classic ski tour from Chamonix to Zermatt about 40 times in 5 different variations. We have guided the original route via the Valsorey hut, the "classic route" via Verbier, from Zermatt to Chamonix ending in Courmayeur and variations in between those mentioned. Our guides speak french and english. Martin Volken, the founder and head guide of Pro Guiding Service grew up in the Zermatt valley and speaks German, French, Italian and English. Because of Martin's background as a Swiss Mountain guide we have many local connections in the area. Believe us, it makes a difference.

Monte Rosa Traverse

Monte Rosa Traverse

Monte Rosa is the second highest peak in the Alps at 15,292 feet. No other traverse in the Alps will let you summit as many 4,000 meter peaks in such a short time.

Mexico - Pico De Orizaba

Mexico - Pico De Orizaba

Pico de Orizaba (18,491 ft / 5636 m) is the highest point in Mexico and the third highest point in North America. This is a popular mountaineering objective on its own. We also propose doing what we’re best known for – skiing right off the summit to the toe of the Jamapa Glacier! This trip timed to coincide with the end of the storms that brings Orizaba most of its snow. If you are looking for a great way to introduce yourself to high altitude climbing, this is it.

This trip can run either as a mountaineering or ski mountaineering trip. Please inquire upon sign-up.

We will climb Mount Rainier via the Kautz Route for a more enjoyable experience away from the crowds. This route is slightly more advanced than the standard Emmons Glacier and Disappointment Cleaver Route.

Skitouring in the fjords of Norway 2019

Mar 25, 2019 - Mar 30, 2019

The ski trip into the Norwegian fjords around Romsdalen is a world-class experience. The lands along the Norwegian Coast have been inhabited for thousands of years and yet a lot of the primeval character of the landscape remains. The meeting of mountains and ocean is truly remarkable. The coastline may very well be the most complicated one in the world. Thousands of fjords ranging from a few hundred meters to over 100 kilometers make up the coast of Norway. After having been there, we saw just enough to realize that the skiing possibilities are just about endless.

Valdez Ski Touring Week 2019

Valdez Ski Touring Week 2019

Apr 15, 2019 - Apr 20, 2019

Valdez is well known for its heli skiing, and the Thompson Pass area is one of our favorite ski mountaineering areas in the U.S. The mountains are wild and spectacular, but surprisingly easy to summit on skis. The snow pack is very maritime and therefore perfect for steeper lines. The fact that we get to stay in the port town of Valdez and enjoy great salmon dinners night after night makes this a uniquely Northwest American experience.
