Our steep skiing clinics have a strong focus on skiing steeper terrain with an emphasis on learning how to make your own call about slope safety.This involves accurate tour planing, route and descent preparation and we will introduce you to basic snow climbing techniques. This is a step towards ski alpinism and is only indirectly related to the "let’s just launch it" attitude of certain extreme movies.
Whistler is a great place to stage this four day event. We will staying in Whistler, take the lifts up every morning and spend the earlier part of the day in the near backcountry of the Blackcomb ski area. The afternoon will be spent in the countless chutes and bowls of this world class ski area.
