Our goals for this skills day will be to plan and implement a tour plan, and to learn and utilize navigation skills with map, compass, altimeter, and GPS. During the week before the day of skiing, we will have a tour planning assignment (sent via email), which we will then evaluate and utilize for the day’s tour. Our tour objectives will focus on movement through classic (read: Cascadian and complicated) terrain, with an emphasis on applying navigational tools throughout the day…and finding some great skiing in unknown routes.
