Mt. Waddington Summer Expedition
July 07, 2008 - July 13, 2008
Mount Waddington (13,200 feet) seems destined to remain the hidden jewel of the Pacific Northwest. The Waddington massif offers some of the best granite climbing on the continent in a setting that is unmatched in the region. The area might be best described as a combination between North Cascades National Park and the Chamonix massif, yet with a landscape still in a wild and primeval state. A 30 minute helicopter flight from White Saddle Air Base will bring us to the comfort of the Plummer Hut. From there we have endless options of prep climbs before we embark onto the summit ascent of Mount Waddington.
