Our Guides

Our Guides
Most of our trips are guided by one of the guides listed below. Depending on the demand of a given trip, extra guides may be hired to meet the needs of the trip and keep our client-to-guide ratios low. Any guide landing a job with Pro Guiding Service will be highly qualified and will be involved in an internationally accredited certification program. The UIAGM (Union Internationale des Associations de Guides de Montagnes) and the AMGA (American Mountain Guides Association) run internationally recognized certification programs for aspiring mountain guides. It requires three to four years of intense training, testing, and supervised guiding to become fully certified. For more information about UIAGM and AMGA qualifications, check the AMGA home page at www.amga.com
The order of appearance has nothing to do with the rank or importance of the guides in our guiding service. All the individuals listed here are carefully chosen guides and their contribution to Pro Guiding Service is much appreciated.

Personal climbing and skiing aspirations have taken her to Sikkim in the Indian Himalaya, and the Waddington Range in British Columbia.  After five years of ski patrolling in the winter months, Solveig now guides full time for both Pro Guiding and Rainier Mountaineering Inc. in Ashford, WA.  She spends the winter months teaching avalanche education courses and leading backcountry skiing seminars.  She has 70 summits of Mount Rainier via 5 routes, and has worked 3 expeditions to Denali.
